Every night We see a moon which is the beautiful object in earth's night sky but did know there many moons in our Solar System. Let's see which position is given to our Moon.
1) Ganymede
Ganymede is the largest moon of our Solar System. Ganymede is a moon of largest planet Jupiter. Ganymede was discovered by famous Galileo galilei on 7 January 1610 with his first telescope. Ganymede is even larger than the mercury planet. It is only know moon to have a magnetic field.
2 ) Titan
Titan is the second largest moon of our Solar System and the largest moon of Saturn. It is the only known moon to have a thick atmosphere. Titan was discovered by Christiaan huygens on 25 March 1655.
3 ) Callisto
Callisto is the third largest moon of our Solar system and the second largest moon of Jupiter. Callisto was discovered by Galileo galilei on 7 January 1610. It tidally locked with Jupiter.
4 ) IO
IO is the fourth largest moon of our Solar System and the third largest moon of Jupiter. It has highest density as compared to other moons. It was also discovered by famous physicist Galileo galilei on 7 January 1610.
5 ) Moon ( Earth's Moon )
The fifth one we all know and see at night sky. Earth's moon is not given any other name it is called moon. It is the only know moon where human visited on 20 July 1969. It is the brightest object in the night sky followed by venus.
6 ) Europa
Europa is sixth largest largest moon of our Solar System and the fourth largest moon of Jupiter. It was also discovered by Galileo galilei on 8 Jada 1610. It slightly smaller than our moon.
